Alaska U.S. Senator Mark Begich, a professed Catholic and parishioner of Holy Family Cathedral, has shown, by his actions, that he has little problem subordinating several major, non-negotiable matters of Catholic faith to politics.
His support for Obamacare has, among other disastrous consequences, been proven to include, in effect, “forced” coverage of abortion — thus having a debilitating moral effect on the Catholic Christian’s freedom of conscience.
Further, as reported in the Catholic Anchor articles from August and December of 2013, Senator Begich supported legislation which subverted another sacred Catholic institution — marriage — defined as the union of one man and one woman.
With a well-documented record on anti-life measures against the unborn and his disregard for the tenets of Catholicism mentioned above, Senator Begich has repeatedly put politics before faith.
