The Dominicans at Holy Family Cathedral are hosting their third annual Friar’s Fest Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The public is invited to join cathedral parishioners for an afternoon of food and games. Entertainment throughout the day will be provided by AKSAXO Jazz, harpist Colleen Duncan and several dance groups. Various food booths will serve ethnic cuisines. Proceeds from the Friar’s Fest will go to fund the education of Western Dominican novices and student brothers. Funds will also go to a trust fund for elderly and infirm Dominican friars, and to retire the debt on the purchase and renovation of the campus for the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, Calif.
